Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a shock move for Gonzalo Higuain.

According to Italian sb0bet newspaper Corriere Della Sera, Tottenham Hotspur have considered a move for Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain following Cristiano Ronaldo's move to Turin.

Juve may be dominating Italian football having won seven league titles in a row, but they have lost two of the last four Champions League league finals, with 'the Old Lady' now looking to clinch a Champions League trophy.

Few signings indicate that goal more than securing Ronaldo, who has won four of the last five Champions League finals and the last two Ballon d'Or titles – but his expensive arrival may lead to some departures.

Corriere Della Sera report that striker Gonzalo Higuain is one player who may be offloaded to raise funds, but the club have yet to receive any offers despite interest from three clubs.

It's claimed that AC Milan and Chelsea are both interested, whilst Tottenham Hotspur sb0bet have also considered a move, at least according to the Italian newspaper anyway.

Higuain, 30, has scored regularly for Juve since his 2016 move from Napoli, smashing 55 goals in just 105 games, whilst he even scored against Tottenham in the Champions League last season.

Such a move would be a huge surprise and completely out of character for Spurs. Higuain would cost a huge fee and exorbitant wages, two things Tottenham aren't keen on paying – especially to players around their 30's.

Add in that Higuain has often been criticised for a perceived lack of work rate, and he doesn't even really fit into the system of compatriot Mauricio Pochettino, whilst he would arguably fail to even start given the presence of Harry Kane, making a move seem completely unthinkable. sb0bet
